    Answer This Question

A: It's too thin, not recommendation for room trim.

    by|May 14, 2022

      A: Yes, with proper application.

      by|Mar 28, 2022

        A: Yes. But I wouldn't recommend that.

        by|Apr 3, 2022

A: No I don't think that would work - it barely works on bathrooms. Better off using actual calk

          by|May 14, 2022

A: Probably not a good idea as it has a very slight “stickiness” to it.

            by|May 14, 2022

A: I wouldn’t because it’s intended to be folded in half so it wouldn’t fit correctly.

              by|Mar 31, 2022

A: I din't have much luck with this in my bathroom. That being said, it might be more adhesive in the drier environment of a wallboard.

                    Answer This Question

A: I would not suggest it for this use. The straight line of the tape will not conform to the curved shape of the toilet base

                    by|Jul 30, 2020

A: You will need to cut the caulk into separate pieces and align them at the corner to create a tight seal. Please be mindful as this is a circular area, these strips may not adhere for the length of time as intended, if used per label directions.

Change the name from Magic to Miracle.

Because it's a Miracle if it sticks! I purchased 2 packs of the 7/8"x 11' for a clean looking caulk line on my newly installed corner tub. Cleaned the wall/tub properly and applied it to the first wall and it quickly detached from the wall and tub. I applied a second new piece and that seemed to adhere. The second wall wasn't any better with it pulling away from the wall and tub overnight! This is not a recommended product at all!

Stained my tub yellow. Do not use this product!

Oh yes it is easy to put on, but the adhesive does not cover the entire area. So I noticed a yellow color around the edge of the caulking. I could not clean the color away. I removed the caulk strips and could now see my tub was stained yellow. I’ve tried CLR for bathrooms, mineral spirits, straight bleach, and white vinegar. After scrubbing for 2 hours, the yellow stain is still there. I do believe the adhesive has penetrated the finish on my tub. This is a newer tub replacement that is now ruined. Please, please do not use this product.

I had high hopes that this would be a quick and easy fix to caulking. No way, it will not stick. The adhesive is horrible. Don't Waste your Time or Money on this junk.

After reading the reviews I was skeptical. But I believe the contractor used this and it lasted for years. The only reason I wanted to replace it was that I was changing the flooring. So decided to give it a try.I prepped very carefully according to instructions. Used scouring powder, then wiped clean, then used alcohol. Waited until thoroughly dry. Then I started to install carefully and slowly. After I got the top on, I decided to wait a day to do the bottom. As I was securing the bottom, I noticed that if I pushed in towards the bathtub too much, the top portion would move away. So I pressed on the top and continued installing the bottom to the floor being careful not to push in, but mostly down. Several days later, the caulk is holding. If you look carefully at the picture, you'll also see that I didn't clean as well as I would have liked to. I plan to finish up with an alcohol wipe, but doing it very carefully so that alcohol doesn't seep under the caulk. Conclusion: Great product, great value, nice finish.

I found this product via a Google search and based on the reviews here I almost did not buy it. I am so glad that I did! Was a breeze to install. Followed directions. I did end up with a 1" stretch effect even with trying not to stretch it but it did not hurt the adhesion. I think the rubbing alcohol is key and I used nail polish remover before that to get any old adhesive residue first.Super fast. Super easy. Super clean look. Super happy I did this instead of fudging around with white silicone caulk!!

I've read a number of reviews regarding this product that address a problem with it peeling from the surface. I've used it on painted walls, fiberglass and linoleum (all surfaces around my shower/tub unit) and my experience is, that with proper preparation (i.e. READ ALL THE DIRECTIONS), this sticks and stays extremely well on all three. Don't stretch it out as you apply it, there's no need to do so. Preparation is basically a quick, simple wipe with rubbing alcohol with a cloth, not paper towels, (no need to "scrub" the surface) giving it some time (not long) to dry completely. It is easy to cut with scissors and really looks good also. If you have a 90 degree corner, simply cut the mating strips at 45 degrees, just like molding. I wanted more than just "regular" silicone caulking which can be tricky to use and messy while trying to have it look even and "professionally" done. The width choices fit the bill also along with two color choices, beige and white. Take your time to keep it level as you peel off the backing strips (easy to do) and run it across your surface as directed and you'll be all set!

Sorry to hear of your disappointment. When using these types of products, it can be frustrating due to the specific instructions and work that comes with using a product like this. Our Peel & Stick Caulk is designed to create a tight seal to keep moisture out. Depending on if the surface was prepared per the instructions, all prior caulk must be completely removed, and the surface thoroughly cleaned with a scouring powder and rubbing alcohol to ensure all residue has been removed. Pre-bend each strip of caulk by folding it at the score line that runs down the middle to form a 90° angle. It’s best to work in small sections and continue to slowly pull the backing off and press the caulk strip firmly to the surface and avoid having to reposition the strip. In corners where two strips will meet, cut the bottom half of the strip at a 45° angle to create a flat mitered corner. Thank you for sharing your feedback, we take pride in producing high quality products and will continue to make improvements.

Choose pure silicone for a more durable caulk job that won't come in contact with paint afterward.

Do caulk strips work well? ›

To be compassionately blunt, the so-called caulking strips are pretty much useless as a caulk replacement! They may have some usefulness in low moisture situations where the decorative appearance is more important than actual function. However, the adhesive is unreliable and, in my experience, will not last very long.
